About Us

This portal is a single window of information related to broadband that maybe needed by a policy maker in the Asian region

For instance, this portal will help you answer the following questions, among others:

  • Where do I find information on broadband policies of different countries in Asia?
  • How do I manage the scare resources within limitations of a government framework?
  • Where do I find independent research studies on broadband which were not motivated by political and financial reasons?
  • What are the extant criticisms of present policy on broadband in India?
  • Is there a systematic study on measuring telecommunications regulatory environment for broadband comparing major Asian countries?
  • Where do I find more information on research related to quality of services in the telecom domain?

With aid from Ford Foundation, we, LIRNEasia, have created this independent website. We have incorporated a comprehensive, annotated archive of existing policy and scholarly material pertaining to policy and regulation on broadband. The content in this portal emerge from our prior research experience in this domain and cross refers authentic resources including the ICT regulation Toolkit  and Broadband toolkit .

LIRNEasia  is a regional  ICT policy and regulation think tank, active across the Asia Pacific.

Ford Foundation was created with gifts and bequests by Edsel and Henry Ford, as an independent, nonprofit, nongovernmental organization, with a mission of advancing human welfare.
